NURSERY
Our nursery caters for up to seventeen infants and toddlers from six months through to approximately two and a half years old. They are cared for in our separate, attractive and well-resourced nursery area with easy access to its own outdoor play space. The nursery is located in the rear of our preschool building on Lyttelton Street.
Children are encouraged to participate in both individual and group learning experiences. There are many opportunities for creative and imaginative play through the day, with routine tasks such as eating, sleeping and toileting woven into those times.
Our team of experienced early childhood qualified teachers provide a calm, friendly and relaxed atmosphere that welcomes and supports infants, toddlers and their families.
Our aspiration for each child is that they grow to become confident and competent life-long learners, as we weave the centre’s Christian philosophy, based on our Biblical belief, values and principles, throughout the daily programme and in our relationships with children, families and each other. We are inclusive of children’s home cultures, providing cultural resources and opportunities reflective of the children attending.
Our teachers promote children’s thinking and learning through specific teaching approaches. These help infants and toddlers develop confidence in their oral language, develop listening, thinking and problem solving skills and make decisions about their own learning.
JUNIORS
Our Junior area which is located at the front of the Preschool building on Lyttelton street, caters for 24 children aged approximately two and a half through to approximately three and a half years old.
This area is attractive and well-resourced with continuous access to both inside and outside areas that allows children to have a free choice of playing environments. We provide a richly resourced curriculum to encourage children’s thinking and learning while they create, imagine and grow in confidence.
Our experienced teachers incorporate Christian values and principles into the daily programme and their relationships with children, families and each other. We have a play-based, interest led programme.
We offer up to 20 hrs ECE (to all children aged three and over) with a maximum of six hours free per day.
Our fee structure is available onsite. We intentionally keep our fees low to support our local community families.
