Our passionate, experienced team, led by our Acting Centre Director, Nadine Nanderson, will gently guide your little one as they grow and learn through play, while making friends and celebrating the joy of being a child.

At Kindercare Addington, we offer enrolment options that include both full time, and part time care and education.

From the moment you arrive at our safe, loving centre, you and your child will feel a warm sense of belonging - and fun. That’s because children and families matter to us, at Kindercare Addington. So, we partner with you to provide the best possible care and learning for your child, while involving you in fun-filled events like themed days, morning and afternoon teas, and family picnics. Because we are a multicultural centre, we embrace your background and everything we can learn from you.

Our convenient location makes drop-offs, pick-ups and drop-ins easy, which is why Kindercare Addington is the centre that looks after every family. Every day. We are conveniently located for families in Addington, and Middleton.

Why choose our centre?

Our modern, homely centre has been providing safe, loving care and learning since 2011. From infancy until they are ready for primary school, your child will be cherished alongside others of a similar age and stage of development. We do this within engaging indoor and outdoor play areas, each of which is designed to ensure your child receives the most beneficial care, learning and social opportunities for their individual needs.

Our care and learning

At Kindercare Addington, we’re proud to provide the safe, loving care you want for your child, along with exceptional, fun-filled learning that meets the different needs of your child’s age and stage of development. What remains the same, is that your little one will be cherished through it all, each day.

We have an established routine in each of our five rooms that lets your child know what is happening and when, throughout the day. This helps us to provide a calm environment, where your little one will feel settled and ready to learn. And while supporting your child’s development throughout, we’ll also take the time to recognise and celebrate their milestones.

We understand that nutrition is also essential to your child’s daily needs. For this reason, our Cook provides a nourishing midday meal, along with healthy morning and afternoon snacks.

Best of all, you and your child will feel ‘at home’ - and a part of Kindercare Addington. Where every day begins and ends with loving care.

Kiwi Room (infants and younger babies room)

In our Kiwi Room, we believe in giving your infant and younger baby consistent, loving care from the beginning, giving them the security to explore and grow. So, before your baby becomes mobile, they will be cherished by one Kaiako. This individual will meet their needs through respectful interactions and lots of cuddles. And our nurturing care doesn’t end there: once your little one is on the move, our passionate Kaiako work in teams to ensure there is always someone close by to observe and respond to them. At this point, we’ll guide your infant through our safe outdoor play area. Specially designed for this stage of development, this sensory-rich, tactile space includes lots of natural resources and activities to support your child’s needs.

Ruru Room (older babies room)

We understand the importance of providing respectful care and extending your baby’s learning, as they grow. And that’s what our Ruru Room is all about. Here, we’ll continue to nurture your little one through responsive care and gentle, meaningful connections, while encouraging them to explore our safe, sensory-filled environments – indoors and out.

Indoors, we give your baby the space to seek out what interests them through numerous educational resources. This also gives them the opportunity to use their imagination to extend their learning while having fun. And in their very own outdoor play area, your baby will enjoy exploring our garden, along with learning, and climbing equipment.

Tūī Room (toddlers room)

We believe your active toddler should be cherished in a room that supports their growing independence and curiosity. Our safe, loving Tūī Room is just the place. Here, we’re passionate about nurturing your child through responsive care, and plenty of space to explore, have quiet times - and of course, fun - both indoors and out. And by sharing an outdoor play area with our Preschool Room, they’ll also enjoy new challenges and a wide range of active play experiences, as all of this is essential to your toddler’s healthy growth and development. And when the time is right, we’re happy to partner with you on that all-important independence skill - toileting.

Pūkeko Room (preschoolers room)

We understand the importance of play-based learning when it comes to fostering the growth and development of your preschooler. And that’s exactly what our safe, loving Pūkeko Room will provide for your little one. Designed for your child’s age and stage of development, our Pūkeko Room is filled with fun, interactive learning that weaves creativity, music and foundation skill-building into play, conversations and activities.

We foster a sense of belonging for every preschooler and their family and whānau, including valuing your language and cultural heritage.

Kōtuku Room (transition to school room)

As the final step in your child’s early learning journey, we believe in preparing them for the next big milestone – primary school. And we lovingly do this in our Kōtuku Room. Here, your preschooler will participate in many fun-filled, movement-based activities that will help them develop the foundation skills they need for kura. Through our ‘You Can Do It’ program, for example, through play-based activities, tamariki build their social and emotional capabilities like confidence, resilience, organisation, persistence and getting along with others. They’ll also develop skills through project-based work, while delighting in the opportunity to focus on different themes like space, recycling, gardening, science and friendships.

We familiarise your child with their future school setting through visits to our local primary school. Through these visits, and all of our transition to school activities, we help to ensure a smooth transition into primary school for your preschooler.

Our world of outdoor play

Movement is central to your child’s intellectual, social and physical development. That’s why we’re proud to offer safe, dedicated outdoor spaces where your child can play, explore, discover and make friends through physical activity. These areas not only support your little one’s growth and learning, but also their transition into the next room and stage of development.
